I HAVE A STORY TO TELL...

The healthy hair journey is real. I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but don’t give up.

I started the process of growing out my relaxer and going natural in 2001. Let’s just say I’ve had many Patty and Selma Bouvier moments (Marge’s sisters from The Simpsons).

There have been many ups and downs along this journey.

I was fortunate to meet Korey “Garth” Sipio in NYC in 2009. He showed me the right tools to care for my natural hair and gives a silk press like no other. Garth kept my mane on point for 9 years.

In 2017, even though my hair was now down my back, I was over wearing my hair straight all of the time. So I decided to pick back up on researching how to wear my hair in it’s curly state on a regular basis again.

Overall it has honestly taken over 19 years of trial and error to learn how to care for my hair so that I could get my natural curls to pop.

After a visit to Qiana Strader at Curl Salon in Vista, CA in February 2019, I finally understood why a proper curly hair cut is the starting place. So I did the “Big Chop”.

Moral of the story: Commitment and discipline will see you through your journey.

Yes, I took a break from letting my curls rock, and flat ironed my hair for 4 months straight, without proper hydration (and lots of hairspray), at the end of 2019.

I paid for it in inches and had to do a lot of trimming along the way, but I’d rather cut the dead ends early so that healthy hair can shine through in the long run.

One of the most important things I learned was the importance of hydration and quality ingredients.

So I decided that I wanted to help others along this hair journey, so everyone could have access to quality hair care, whether you’re inside or outside of the salon.

That’s how this brand was born. That’s why we’re here today.

I take care of my hair at home now, and I want you to be able to do so as well.
